Purdue's delegation with Rep. Thomas Massie |
This last weekend, three of our members attended the Young Americans for Liberty state convention in Lexington, Kentucky. Details can be found here, with more information in our forthcoming post regarding the event. Despite how early we had to get up, we had an excellent time, and only wish it had lasted longer. Speakers included David Boaz of the Cato Institute, Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY), Julie Borowski of FreedomWorks, and Kentucky Agricultural Commissioner James Comer, all of whom covered a number of topics regarding the philosophy and message of liberty.
Towards that end, we will be holding a major outreach event on campus next week: War on Youth. This activism kit, prepared by the national YAL organization, is focused on educating college students about the problems unsustainable entitlement programs, the national debt, and irresponsible monetary policies pose to our generation. Be sure to come check it out!
We've also been working to get our other social media platforms posting regularly. Don't forget to like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter for the latest updates. Despite some melancholy as our president prepares to leave Purdue, we're looking to end this semester on a positive note, and are actively working to make next year even better for both our chapter and Purdue University.
